Father Meiergerd has been an institution to West Point and to Catholic education in Northeast Nebraska. My life is better for having known him and for having the opportunity to learn from him in religion classes and in church during my early years. It is very hard for me to believe that he is really gone, but he has certainly earned his eternal reward in heaven. My prayers and sympathy to the Meiergerd family.
