Mary Brunsing, 50, of West Point, died Sunday, December 20, 2009 at her farm home. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am. Thursday, December 24th, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Reverend Frank Lordemann as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Guild Rosary will be 1:30 pm. Wednesday at Stokely Funeral Home. Public Wake services will be 7:00 pm. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until 2:00 pm. Wednesday at Stokely Funeral Home and will continue at the church beginning at 6:00 pm. Memorials may be made to the Guardian Angels Pre School program. Mary was born April 14, 1959 at Fort Dodge, Iowa to Francis and Mildred Olberding Devereaux. She was a 1977 high school graduate of Havelock Plover High School in Havelock, Iowa and graduated from Briar Cliff College majoring in early childhood development. On May 16, 1987, Mary married Jerry Brunsing at St. John Vienne Catholic Church in Omaha. The couple farmed west of West Point. Mary worked at Creative Notions and since 2002 as a pre School teacher at Guardian Angels Catholic School. Mary was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Christian Mothers. She was an avid quilter. Survivors include her husband Jerry of West Point, daughter Mollie at home, sons Greg and Scott both of Lincoln, her mother Mildred Devereaux of Havelock, Iowa, sisters Patricia (Lee) Bailey of Laurens Iowa, and Lois (Ed) Lefebvre of Omaha, brothers William (Sandy) Devereaux of Pocahontas, Iowa, Gary (Annette) and Dennis (Melisa) Devereaux both of Fonda, Iowa, David of St. Louis, Missouri and Alan (Mary) of Omaha, and father in law Hubert Brunsing of West Point. She is preceded in death by her father, sisters Rosalie Devereaux, and Jean Jones and an infant brother.
