For 34 years he served on the West Point Volunteer Fire Department where he was elected Assistant Fire Chief and then Fire Chief . He also was a Boy Scout Leader and a member of the Sportsman’s Club. He loved spending his weekends camping, hunting, and fishing. Going on vacation to Montana was something he always looked forward to.
