Joseph Todd Lindberg, 47, of Omaha, formerly of West Point died Father’s Day, June 19, 2005 at University of Omaha Medical Center, surrounded by family. Memorial Services will be 2:00 pm. Wednesday at Heafey, Hoffman, Dworak, Cutler Funeral Home, West Center Chapel in Omaha, and 10:30 Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in West Point with Reverend Robert Hedtke officiating. Private burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery at West Point. Those wishing to sign the register book may do so 9:00 am. till 6:00 pm. on Wednesday at Stokely Funeral Home in West Point, or leave on line condolences at www.stokelyfuneralhome.com. Joe was born March 10, 1958 in Sargent, NE to Dick and Gwen (Einspahr) Lindberg. He was baptized March 16, 1958 at St. John Lutheran in Ord. He attended elementary school in Sargent, a few months at Albion andgraduated from St. Paul Lutheran School in West Point in 1972. He was confirmed March 26, 1972 by Pastor Frank Winter at St. Paul Lutheran Church in West Point. Joe was a 1976 graduate of West Point High School. He attended University of Nebraska-Lincoln for one year, Midland Lutheran in Fremont a semester, and University of Nebraska-Omaha 2 years. He has a massage therapist degree. Joe worked as a truck driver for the Oakland Alfalfa Mill, at West Point News, Iowa Beef Processing for over 3 years, Absolutely Fresh Seafood in Omaha, and for the past several years as a dealer/supervisor at Harrah’s in Council Bluffs, IA. Joe played trombone and sang bass. He was especially interested in photography, snow skiing, golf and sailing. He had a brown belt in Ninja martial arts and was the lead in the West Point Community Theatre production of “A Funny Thing Happened to Me on the Way to the Forum”. He was also in several Omaha Community Playhouse Plays. Survivors include his parents, Dick and Gwen Lindberg, of West Point, brothers Jeff (Sandy) of Fort Collins, CO, Greg (Teri) of Omaha, Mike (Jody) of Lincoln, special friend Monda Thompson of Omaha, aunts uncles nieces, nephews and other friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents and an uncle.
