I am so saddened to hear this news. I went to PA school with Joanie and have not seen her since. But I will always remember those two difficult and challenging educational years we spent together. She was such a wonderful role model of positivity, spirit and hope. She was always so grateful and positive and a guiding light to others. My deepest sympathy to family and friends. I have only the fondest memories of Joanie and the values she reflected. HUGS

To Jim and sons, Carol and Roger, My deepest condolences to you all. Joan & I were best friends in high school. We had so much fun together. The laughter was endless. Unfortunately busy lives brought distance but we never lost track of each other. I was so happy to have reconnected again about 6 years ago. She was so happy being a grandma. My heart aches. ? My memories will live on. So happy to have this beautiful picture of her. Hugs and much love to you all! Vicki Halterman Letourneau

We are so very sorry for your loss! Joanie was so kind and always the best at listening to her patients. She never made us feel as if she was in a hurry and we always looked forward to seeing her at appointments. Her ability to care was obvious! God bless you all during this difficult time.

To the family of Joanie, Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you even though we don't know you personally. Joanie was such a special lady. She was the one who first pushed me for a colonoscopy back in 2004 which saved my life. LeRoy and I just saw her in ER on last Wed. She was always so caring and compassionate. She always had a smile and conversation when I saw her at the grocery store or DQ. She will be missed by soooooo many. Let your memories bring you smiles, your family and friends give you comfort and God grant you peace. Our love and sympathy to you all. LeRoy and Janis Poppe

Jim and family - We are so sorry to hear about the loss of Joanie. Please know we are sending our love and prayers to you all. Each and every time Jim and Joanie visited MIssouri they made sure to make a stop to see my parents, Ray and Shirley, at the farm. I always felt and remember the glorious and vivacious personality gleaming from Joanie. She had a loving spirit that shone like the sun! May her good and warm memories keep you going, may the perpetual light shine upon her. In prayers and thoughts, Stuart and Karla (Volmert) Briggs

Dear Jim & family, My heart broke to hear the news of Joanie's passing! I remember all the fun times we shared when you all came to visit our family in Missouri. I would always get so excited when I knew you all would be coming to visit. Joanie always had a smile and a kind word about everyone. She was so proud of her family and her grandkids as she would share pictures and talk about them so fondly. Her beautiful smile would just light up the room! Hold tight to all the great memories and lean on each other duirng this most difficult time. Hugs and prayers for you all!

Yosten Family, I am so very sorry for your loss. I was on the Statistics faculty at Kansas State with Joan's father Arlin. We were good friends and often talked about our families. He was very proud of Joan and told me all about each of you. He was especially proud of the hard work she put in to become a PA and the way the family pitched in and supported her and made it happen. It was clear this was an effort on the part of all of you. I have friends in West Point who subsequently told me how much they valued her for both her PA/medical work and her wonderful personality. Condolences from me and my family. I hope your life is rich with warm memories of Joan. Peace. John Boyer (now in York Nebraska)
