Harold Edward Woerman, 90, formerly of West Point, died January 7, 2006 at a Sioux Falls South Dakota Hospital. Services will be 10:30 am. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church in West Point with Reverend Carl Kramer officiating. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00 until 8:00 pm. Wednesday at Stokely Funeral Home with family receiving friends 5:00 pm. until 7:00 pm. Memorials may be made to Mount Hope Cemetery or Grace Lutheran Church. Those wishing to leave on line condolences may do so at www.stokelyfuneralhome.com.Harold was born June 28, 1915 on the farm east of West Point to Edward and Anna Doescher Woerman. He attended school district #74. On June 17, 1942, he married Mildred Schroeder at Grace Lutheran Church. The couple farmed on the Cuming Burt County line before retiring into West Point in 1994. While farming, Harold developed a love for animals having pet names for all his milk cows or sows. He became especially fond of his dogs and cats. In November of 2003 they moved to SiouxFalls, South Dakota. Harold was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. He had served on the School Board of District #69 and was a member of area farm cooperatives. Polka music, dancing, and wood working were his hobbies. He had a strong passion for church, family and community. He will be remembered as a kind and gentle man. Survivors include daughters Joan (David) Collins of Houston, Texas and Jane (Hector) Sanchez of Cary, North Carolina, sons Robert (Jan) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and John (Val) of Blair, grandchildren Kristin Woerman, Kelly Anderson, Karen Woerman, Barbara Pierson, Debra Woerman, Joshua Schwieger, Jarrod Schwieger, Rolando Sanchez and Sandra Sanchez, great grandchildren Alex Woerman and Hunter Pierson, brother Ralph (Betty) Woerman, and sister in law Margaret Woerman. He is preceded in death by his wife January 1, 2004, sisters Ruth Daberkow and Eunice Landholm, and brother Donald Woerman
