Dean Perry, 66, of West Point, died Monday, May 3, 2010 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 Thursday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Reverend Frank Lordemann as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Wake Services will be 7:30 pm. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until 5:00 pm. Wednesday at Stokely Funeral Home then continue at the church until wake time. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the West Point Public School Foundation or St. Francis Memorial Hospital Home Health and Hospice. Dean was born March 11, 1944 at Shelby to Morris and Elizabeth Kilgore Perry. He was raised in West Point and graduated from West Point Public High School in 1962. Dean served in the US Navy from May, 1, 1963 until February 11, 1965 and was stationed in San Diego, Philippines and Japan. On April 8, 1967, Dean married Theresa Ridder at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point. The couple made their home in West Point. Dean worked as a lineman for the R. E. A., North Western Bell, US West and retired from Qwest in 1999. Dean was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. For the past 8 years he served as a Cuming County Supervisor. He was a member of the West Point Sportsman Club and past member of the West Point Public School Board. He enjoyed fishing and goose hunting. He had a passion for restoring lawn tractors and could often be found socializing with his buddies out in the shed. Survivors include his wife, Theresa, of West Point, sons Jim (Judy) of West Point and Jay (Lynn) of Oak Hill, VA, sisters Jackie Perry of West Point, Marilyn (Dennis) Beck of Snyder, Doris (Gene) Zobel of Bancroft, and Maxine (Lynn) Poppe of Omaha, brothers Bob (Vivian) Perry of Lees Summit, MO and Mert (Brenda) Perry of West Point, grandchildren Megan and Adam Perry and Alex, Noah and Cooper Perry, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
