Winston. Joseph Strehle, 92, of West Point died October 21, 2004 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point. Winston was born July 17, 1912 at West Point to Frank J. and Mary Welding Strehle. He attended school at Guardian Angels Catholic School in West Point. As a young man he worked with his father in the family business, Strehle Garage. He later worked at the Alfalfa Mill and Main Street Bowling Alley. In 1972 he entered the West Point Living Center. Winston was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He was involved at the Ike’s Club, but his passion was baseball. He will be remembered as gentle person and a dedicated son. Survivors include his sister Mathilda Ortmeier of West Point, sister in law Genevieve Strehle of West Point, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary Monson and Viola Steffl, brother Frank C. Strehle and an infant brother Archibald Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am. Monday October 25, 2004 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point with Reverend Frank Lordemann as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Wake services will be at 7:00 pm.
