Wilman Vlach, 96, of Dodge, died Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Parkview Home in Dodge. Funeral Mass will be at 10 am. Monday, April 1st, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge with Reverend Patrick McLaughlin as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 until 6:30 pm. at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge with Wake service at 6:30 pm. Sunday evening at the church. Memorials may be made to St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Wilman Edwin Vlach was born July 5, 1916 at Dodge to William and Edna Yunek Vlach. In his youth, he helped in the family produce business and also worked in the family*s theater, the Star Theater and the Wilalto. In 1931, he formed a partnership with his dad to establish the grocery business of Vlach & Son. He was a 1934 graduate of Dodge High School. On January 2, 1940, Wilman married Vlasta Chudomelka at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge. Wilman continued to operate Vlach & Son Grocery Store in Dodge until 1976, when he retired. Wilman was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, served as a Chamber of Commerce officer and also held office in the Dodge Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed working in his yard, hunting and fishing trips to Minnesota. Survivors include his wife Vlasta of Dodge; sons Robert W. (Delores) Vlach of Lohman, MO and Harold Vlach of Hastings; grandchildren Brian (Jennifer) Vlach and Stephen (Piya) Vlach; great-grandchildren Lauren and Cameron Vlach; and Wilman and Finn Vlach.
