William “Bill” Bliemeister, 86, of West Point, died Tuesday September 6, 2011 at Wisner Care Center in Wisner. Memorial Mass will be 10:30 am Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Reverend Frank Lordemann as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery with Military Honors. Memorial visitation will be 9 am to 8 pm Thursday and a public wake with Knights Of Columbus Rosary will be 7 pm Thursday at Stokely Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements. William Louis Bliemeister was born October 15, 1924 in Loretto, NE to William and Josephine (Meier) Bliemeister. He graduated from Albion High School in 1942. He was drafted into the US Army serving with the 163rd Infantry Regiment stationed in the Southern Philippines during World War II. On May 18, 1948 he married Elizabeth Schinstock at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The couple lived in West Point the greater part of their lives wintering in Fountain Hills, AZ the last 25 years. Bill was employed at Ortmeier Seed, Feed and Produce for 13 years. Later he owned and operated Bill’s Standard Service moving across the street to own and operate Bliemeister Auto with his two sons. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Knights Of Columbus, American Legion and a life member of VFW. He enjoyed fishing at Woodcliff Lake and socializing with friends at cards and golfing. Survivors include wife, Elizabeth; sons John (Connie) of West Point, Gary (Maurine) of Fremont; daughters Diana (Mark) Iden, Joyce (David) Prinz all of West Point; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sister Darlene (Wortman) of West Point. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Conrad, Harold and Gale; sister Esther Jenson; and twin daughters of John and Connie Bliemeister. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph’s Retirement Community, Guardian Angels Central Catholic Endowment or West Point Community Theater.
