Vincent Buersmeyer, 85, of rural West Point, died Wednesday, July 09, 2008, at West Point Living Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am. Saturday at St. Boniface Catholic Church at Monterey with Reverend Gerald Gonderinger as celebrant. Public wake with Knights of Columbus Rosary will be 7:30 pm. Friday at Stokely Funeral Home. Burial will be at St. Boniface Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until 8:00 pm. Friday at Stokely Funeral Home. Those wishing to leave on line condolences may do so at www. Stokelyfuneral home. Com Vincent was born June 16, 1923 on the family farm near Monterey to Joseph and Elizabeth Heer Buersmeyer. Following the death of his mother, he moved with his sister to Akron, Colorado to live with his maternal grandparents. He returned to the farm at Monterey and was raised by his father and stepmother, Anna Ermels Buersmeyer. Vincent attended St. Boniface Catholic School. He farmed and did part time electrical work until his retirement in the mid 1980’s. Vincent was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church where he once served as trustee. He was a 3rd and 4th Degree member of Knight of Columbus. In the earlier years he coached softball. He enjoyed traveling and was an avid Ham Radio operator. Survivors include his sister, Alice Buersmeyer, of West Point and several cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents and stepmother.
