Thomas Levi Bales, 81, of West Point, died December 28, 2005 at the Veterans Hospital in Omaham.ass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point with Reverend Gerald Gonderinger as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 10:00 am. until 8:00 pm. with public Wake Services at 7:00 pm. at Stokely Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Church. Tom was born September 25, 1924 at Pearisburg, Virginia to Charles and Nannie Morris Bales. He served in the US Army from May, 1948 until August 1950. Following his discharge he moved to Walthill, Nebraska. There he met and married Ramona Christ on April 22, 1952. The couple lived in Walthill and Oakland before settling in West Point in 1962. Tom was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed reading and socializing. Survivors include his wife Ramona of West Point, sons Charles and Glen (Tina) of Ft. Collins CO, daughter Mary Trevino of Columbus, brothers Jim (Mary), Ivan (Norma) Bales both of Pearisburg, Virginia, and Reggie Bales of Linside, West Virginia, grandchildren Junior Trevino, Troy and Travis Bales, Tabitha Larsen, Brittany, Blade and Jami Bales, 11 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a daughter Beverly Grashorn, son Jim Bales, sister Mary and brother Charles.
