Stephanie Knobbe, 62, of West Point, passed away Monday, December 31, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. Funeral Mass will be 10:30am on Saturday, January 5 at St. Boniface Catholic Church at Monterey with Reverend Steve Emanuel as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Boniface Cemetery with lunch following at the Nielsen Center. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00pm to 6:00pm with a Vigil Service at 6:00pm all at St. Boniface Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Boniface Church Endowment, GACC Endowments, or will be used to buy children’s books for the library. Arrangements by Stokely Funeral Home. Stephanie Lynn Knobbe was born on January 2, 1956 to Walker Jr. and Barbara (Siechert) Smith in Iowa City, IA. She graduated from Grand Island Senior High School in 1974. On January 18, 1975, Stephanie married Patrick Knobbe at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Central City. The couple moved to rural West Point where they started their family. She began her career in social work in 1988 and went on to graduate with honors from Dana College in 1996 and receive her Master’s Degree from UNO in 1998. As her children grew, she embraced her calling from God to be a licensed mental health therapist. She fully embraced her calling which led her to a fulfilling career and a business owner. Later in her career, Stephanie worked in hospice care and helped her husband with Knobbe Cattle. Stephanie was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and Altar Society. She was a 4-H leader and member of the West Point Younger Farmers. Stephanie enjoyed spending time with her family, riding her horse and taking a drive with Pat for a horse and buggy ride. Survivors include her husband, Pat, of West Point; children, amy (Ryan) Guerra of Omaha – Allie and DelaneyRyan (Libby) Knobbe of West Point – Jaden, Ayva, and CaleKylie (Brandon) Dirkschneider of Blair – Makenna, Madeline, and AmiahNathan (Kelly) Knobbe of Sidney – Kash, Kole, Kade, and KortSister, Stacey (David) Winter of Lincoln; brothers, Mike (Sherry) Smith of Wood River, Bill (Chris) Smith of Central City, and Tom (Lynn) Barron of South Carolina. Stephanie is preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, Clem Knobbe; brother, Steve Smith; and granddaughter, Tanna Knobbe.
