Sherri Lynn Ortmeier, 43, of West Point, died February 8, 2008 at West Point Living Center. Memorial Mass will be 10:30 am. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point with Reverend Gerald Gonderinger as celebrant. Public Wake services will be 7:00 pm. Monday at Stokely Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Huntington’s disease Foundation. Sherri was born February 19, 1964 in Omaha to Bill and Kathy Melies Heeren and was a 1982 graduate of North West High School. Sherri worked in management at First Data Resources in Omaha for 10 years. On April 15, 1994, she married Jerald Ortmeier at St. Gerald’s Catholic Church in Las Vegas, Nevada. The couple lived in West Point where Sherri helped raise Jerry’s nieces, Heather Walsh and Crystal Jump. Sherri was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed racing motor cycles and showing Palomino Horses. In 1996 she was diagnosed with Huntington’s disease. Survivors include her husband, Jerry, of West Point, mother, Kathy Heeren of Omaha, sisters Lori, Ann, Lisa and Billie Heeren of Omaha, Cindy Heeren of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Kristy of Dayton, Texas, sister in law Donna Durkee of Brunsfield, Texas. She is preceded in death by her father, Bill.
