KTIC Program Director and Bull on-air personality Ryan Guill has passed away at age 27. He was found in his West Point home Monday morning. The cause of death has not been determined. Thursday at Stokely Funeral Home in West Point with family present 4:00 until 7:00. Further services will be held in Lexington on Monday. Local survivors include his father Randy Guill of Norfolk and his paternal grandparents George and Leona Guill of Oakland. He is also survived by his mother, linda, of Lexington. Guill began his career working part-time at KRVN Radio in Lexington as a high school student. He combined his love of radio and computers as he produced ball games and maintained the station’s web site. He began working full-time as an announcer in September 1996 and graduated from Central Community College in Hastings with a Broadcasting degree in October 2001. Guill transferred in 2003 to the Nebraska Rural Radio Association’s sister station KTIC/KWPN in West Point to handle duties as Program Director. Many of Ryan’s technical and computer skills were self-taught. NRRA General Manager Eric Brown says Guill “was a terrific young man who loved radio. His enthusiasm and communications ability will be missed in West Point and Lexington”. “This is such a tragedy,” said station manager Craig Larson. “I’ve worked in radio for 25 years, and he was one of the most talented individuals I have ever seen. He had such a bright future ahead of him”.
