Ruth E. Reppert, 89, of West Point, died, Thursday, July 22, 2010, at West Point Living Center. Funeral services will be 10:00 am. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Reverend Richard Bringewatt officiating. Burial will be Saturday at Mount Hope Cemetery prior to the funeral services. Visitation will be noon until 8:00 pm. Friday at Stokely Funeral Home in West Point. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church. Ruth was born October 3, 1920 at Oakland to Anton and Emelia Olaussen Johnson. She grew up on the farm and attended country school. Ruth was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran in Oakland and graduated in 1939 from Lyons High School. On February 12, 1941, Ruth married Paul Reppert at First Lutheran in Oakland and they made their home on a farm north east of West Point. In 1957, the family moved to the farm north of West Point, where they raised ponies. Following the death of her husband, Paul, Ruth began a 15 year career as a nurse’s aide at West Point Living Center. Ruth continued to live in the country until moving to St. Joseph’s retirement community in 2007. Ruth was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Ladies Aide and Circle. Ruth enjoyed crafting and was a wonderful baker, especially her chocolate chip cookies. She often had a song on her lips, and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Ruth will be most remembered for her deep Christian faith, and her devotion to the Word of God, printed in her many worn bibles. Survivors include children Ruth Ann (Terry) Saner, Paul, Jr. (Maren) and Daniel (Sandra) Reppert all of West Point and Chris Stuckenschmidt of Lincoln, grandchildren Tamra (Chris) Deeter, Beth Marie (Peter) Kenow, Michael (Gwen) Saner, Tim (Holly) Reppert, Serena (Bill) Beedie, Tricia (Paul) Swan, Jackie (Mike) Anderson, Travis Frazier, Traci (John) Armstrong, Matthew (Julie) Stuckenschmidt, Stacy (Jason) Leimbach, Alicia (Jerrid) Oates, Gary Reppert and Amanda Reppert, 23 great grandchildren, and sister in law Doris Johnson of West Point. She is preceded in death by her husband Paul, Sr. on January 18, 1967, daughter in law Sharon Kohl Reppert, son in law Lauren “Stucky” Stuckenschmidt, her parents, and brothers Bert, Hilmer, Wallace, and Weldon Johnson.
