Ruth G. Hein, 90, of West Point, died Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital. Services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, May 7, at St. Paul Lutheran Church with burial to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 9 am to 8 pm at Stokely Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements. Ruth was born August 6, 1920 to Albert & Martha (Eckmann) Greenwald in Wayne County. She was baptized, confirmed and married at First Trinity Lutheran Church in Altona, NE. She graduated from Wisner High School in 1937 and Northeast College of Commerce in Huron, SD. On July 6, 1941, she married Fred Hein. In March of 1953 they moved to West Point from Omaha. Ruth worked as Deputy Assessor in Cuming County from 1961 to 1983. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, a member of LWML and a member of Ladies Aid. She enjoyed gardening, and she and her husband enjoyed wintering in Arizona from 1983 until 2006. She was a woman of strong faith and a humble giver. Survivors include daughter, Donna (Paul) Maier of Cameron Park, CA and son, Stan (Dels) Hein of West Point, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, brother in law Herb Ketelsen, sister in law Ruth Hendrickson, two nieces, three nephews and special friends, Karen and Lanny Eldridge of Sun City, AZ. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, infant son, brother, Don Greenwald, sister Helen Ostwald and sister in law Esther Ketelsen.
