Ruth Beckenhauer, 95, of Blair, formerly of West Point, died Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Crowell Home in Blair. Funeral Services will be 1:00pm on Wednesday, March 14 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Reverend Richard Bringewatt as officiant. Lunch will follow at the church hall. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be Tuesday from 12:00pm to 6:00pm with family receiving friends from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Stokely Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church. Stokely Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Ruth Dorothea Beckenhauer was born on February 26, 1923 to Rev. August and Helene (Burmester) Lambrecht in Lyons. She graduated from West Point Public High School in 1941. On November 4, 1943, Ruth married Paul W. Beckenhauer at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. The couple lived in several towns before settling in West Point. Ruth was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She volunteered at the St. Francis Memorial Hospital for many years. Ruth enjoyed sewing, reading, and bible study. Survivors include her sons, Mark (Mary) Beckenhauer and Michael Beckenhauer both of Omaha; daughters, Marilyn Denton of Waverly and Christine (Roger) Nielson of Jefferson, IA; 17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Paul W. Beckenhauer; son, Paul W. Beckenhauer, Jr.; grandson, Matthew Nielsen; and great-grandson, Nolan Beckenhauer.
