Wimer, 59, of Nickerson, died Thursday, October 19, 2023 at his home.  Funeral Services will be 10:00am on Wednesday, October 25 at Stokely Funeral Home in West Point.  Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery with lunch following at the Nielsen Community Center.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm and continue from 9:00am to 10:00am on Wednesday at Stokely Funeral Home.  Memorials may be directed to the family.  Arrangements by Stokely Funeral Home.

Ronald “Ronnie” G. Wimer was born August 20, 1964 in Sioux City, IA to Wayne and Marianne (Miller) Wimer.  The family moved to Scribner, NE when Ronnie was a young boy.  He attended District 25 “Mud Creek” country school and graduated from Scribner High School in 1982.

In 1989 Ronnie married Linda Hendrix and later adopted her son Steven helping to raise him as his own.  Together, the couple also welcomed Jason Hyde as a part of their family.  Later in life, Ronnie met the love of his life, Lisa Quick and they were together for 14 years before his passing.  They were inseparable and  supported each other in every way possible.

Ronnie was the oldest of seven children.  He was a “gearhead” and loved anything fast and especially loud,  which perhaps caused him some trouble at times…. He could often be found in the garage, helping a friend or a family member in need of which he had many.  At times he was loud, he was goofy, but most of all he was kind and would do anything for you if he could.  He was loved by many and will be sorely missed.

Ronnie is survived by his son, Steven (Sarah) Wimer and granddaughter Riley, son Jason Hyde; the love of his life, Lisa of Nickerson; father, Wayne Wimer of Crowell; brothers, Shane (Jodi) Wimer of Fremont, Dallas (Denia) Wimer of Hooper, Dale (Linda) Wimer of Fremont; sisters, Milissa Wimer of Fremont, Mickie (Tyler) Hancock of Arlington and Angie (Scott) Von Seggern of Arlington; 15 nieces and nephews, numerous cousins and a countless number of friends.

Ronnie is preceded in death by his mother, Marianne Wimer; niece Kahlan and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
