Robert Jaschke, 89, of West Point, died Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Wisner Care Center. Memorial services will be 3:00pm on Tuesday, April 10 at St. Joseph’s Retirement Community chapel with Chaplain Mitch Shemek officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Neligh. A memorial has been established. Stokely Funeral Home is in charge of arrangments. Robert C. Jaschke was born on November 28, 1928 to Carl and Winifred (Pratt) Jaschke in Neligh. Bob grew up on various farms in the Neligh area. He attended District 16 School west of Neligh and graduated from Neligh High School in 1948. In 1955, he started Bob’s Shoe Service in Neligh which he ran for 25 years. After retiring from shoe repair, Bob worked for an appliance dealer for a few years. In his later years, Bob lived at St. Joseph’s Retirement Community. Bob was a member of the United Methodist Church in Neligh, Neligh Chamber of Commerce, and Neligh Lions Club. He enjoyed bicycling, roller skating, and fishing. Bob could be found doing needle plastic canvas work, listening to music, or visiting with friends. He was happy to help anyone who asked. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Paul in 1990.
