Robert Eugene Crites was born on February 10, 1938, to Hoy Crites and Edith Flory Studwell in Independence, OH.  He was raised amidst the hills of West Virginia, an environment that shaped his character and resilience.  Robert’s life was marked by a deep commitment to his country. He joined the United States Air Force on March 28, 1956, serving as a helicopter mechanic. With unwavering dedication, he spent 22 years, 2 months, and 2 days in the service, earning an honorable discharge on June 1, 1978. After his military service, Robert worked for General Electric for 25 years and spent 16 years with Railcrew Xpress.

Beyond his work, Robert was an active member of his community.
