Raymond E. Lang, 75, of West Point, died Thursday, September 20, 2012 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Reverend Frank Lordemann as celebrant. Military Honors will follow. Burial at St. Michael’s Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be noon until 8:00 pm. Sunday with family receiving friends 3:00 pm. to 5:00 pm. at Stokely Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph’s Retirement Community. Raymond Edwin Lang was born October 9, 1936 at Norfolk, to Edwin and Mary Hupka Lang. He attended school at Howells and served with the U. S. Navy. He married Rosemary Westerman Harms. Ray worked at Iowa Beef Processing, West Point Sale Barn, and Porter Construction of Norfolk, retiring in 2008, and moving to St. Joseph’s Retirement Community in 2009. Raymond was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing and outdoor activities at Ponca State Park and Peony Park, as well as trips to the casino. Survivors include daughters; Debra (Rodney) Losee of Doniphan, DeAnn (Gregg) Schlecht of West Point, Rhonda (Kevin) Heldt of Tilden, Peggy Bagby of Joplin, MO, Lori (Mike) Woerner of West Point, monica Lang of Ames, IA, and Danita (James) Dahlgren of Bennington, former wife Rosemary Lang of West Point, sisters; Sharon Burger of Lincoln, Darlene (Edward) Monteford and brother in law Rodney Royce all of Bozeman, MT, brother; Robert (Marian) Lang of Bozeman, MT, 18 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, sons; Mitchell Harms in 1979 and Edwin Lang in 1987, and sisters; Carol Barker and Marilyn Royce.
