Ralph Eby, 90, of West Point, died Thursday, June 11, 2009 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital. Memorial services will be 2:00 pm. Monday at Trinity Church in West Point with Reverend Nora Mendik officiating. Burial will Masonic Rites will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in West Point. There will be no visitation. Memorials maybe made to Trinity Church. Ralph was born September 18, 1918 at Sabetha, Kansas to Dan Clara Christensen Eby. Ralph grew upat attended school in Sabetha. Ralph did some migrant farm work before drafted into the Army Air Corps, serving in England as a crew chief on fighter planes and was discharged in 1945. He then enrolled inKansas State University and graduated with a Electrical Engineering degree in 1950. On May 3, 1953, Ralph married Mildred Gish and the couple moved to West Point. Ralph worked as City Engineer for 31 years, retiring in 1984. Ralph was a member of Trinity Church where he served on the Trustee Board, on several committees, and as a Trinity Trooper. He is a member of The American Legion, and past Master of Jordan Lodge #27 and past Patron of Rose Stare chapter #238 Order of the Eastern Star. In June of 1984, he received “Seven Hits Award”, from the American Public Power Association, he served as president of the North East Nebraska Utilities Section and was a member of the American Water Works. He is preceded in death by his wife Mildred, brother Floyd and a step sister. He is survived by nieces and nephews.
