Peggy Brunnert Taylor, 48, of Beemer died Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Colonial Haven Nursing Home. Memorial Mass 10:30am Tuesday at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Beemer, with Reverend Frank Lordemann as celebrant. Private burial at a later date. Wake Service 7:00pm Monday, Visitation 9:00am until 7:00pm Monday, both at Stokely Funeral Home in West Point. A memorial has been established. Peggy Ann Brunnert was born June 27, 1966 in West Point to Cletus and Donna (Gronenthal) Brunnert. She attended Guardian Angels Catholic School and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1984. Peggy received an Elementary Education degree from Wayne State College and taught at Martin, SD, St. Francis, SD, and rural District 25 in Wayne County, NE. She worked as a lifeguard, giving swimming lessons to many young people, and for six years was employed at Sears retail store. On July 27, 1991, Peggy married Joel Taylor at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The couple had five children and later divorced. Peggy was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Beemer, an enthusiastic fan of the Denver Broncos, and enjoyed time with her family. Survivors include her daughters Emily Taylor of Beemer and Samantha Taylor of Wayne; sons Zachery Taylor of West Point, Seth and Nicholas Taylor of Beemer; mother Donna Brunnert of West Point; sister Lori (Dave) Shields of Council Bluffs, IA; brothers David (Holly) Brunnert of Cypress, TX, Doug (Kim) Brunnert of Katy, TX, Mike Brunnert of Omaha, and Kevin (Sheila) Brunnert of St. Joseph, MO; ex-husband Joel Taylor of Beemer; ex-mother-in-law Deb Taylor of Lyons; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Peggy was preceded in death by her father Cletus on June 1, 2009; brother Brian; grandparents August and Anna (Heer) Brunnert and Lawrence and Mary Ann (Fischer) Gronenthal.
