Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintPaul Henry Gentrup, 81, of rural West Point, died Friday, December 28, 2007 at his farm home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Reverend Gerald Gonderinger as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Wake services will be 7:00 pm. Sunday at St. Mary’s Church. Visitation will be noon until 4:00 pm. at Stokely Funeral Home and will continue at the church. Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Endowment. Those wishing to leave on line condolences may do so at www.stokelyfuneralhome.com. Paul was born May 16, 1926 on the family farm west of West Point to Henry and Anna Schlecht Gentrup. He attended Guardian Angels Catholic School and helped on the farm. On April 21, 1954 he married Wilma Luebbert at St. Anthony’s Catholic at St. Charles. The couple farmed east of West Point retiring in 2006. Paul was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church where he ushered, participated in perpetual adoration, and sang in the funeral choir. He served on the Archdiocesan APC board and was active in Cursillo. Survivors include his wife Wilma, of West Point, sons; keith (Mary) of Omaha and Dean of West Point, sister Rita Wiechman of West Point and brother Lawrence (Mildred) Gentrup of West Point. He is preceded in death by his parents, half brothers Arnold and Frank Spenner and half sister Gertrude Spenner.
