Paul Beckenhauer, 91, of Omaha, formerly of West Point, died Monday, October 27, 2014 at Maple Crest Care Center in Omaha. Funeral Service, with military honors, 11:00am Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in West Point, with Reverend Richard Bringewatt officiating. Visitation 9:00am until 8:00pm Wednesday, with family receiving friends 6:00pm until 8:00pm, at Stokely Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church. Following anatomical donation, burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery at a later date. Paul Willard Beckenhauer was born August 6, 1923 in West Point to Charles and Camilla (Bank) Beckenhauer, and was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church. Paul graduated from West Point High School in 1941, and received his law degree from Creighton University in 1950. During World War II he served as a radio operator in the United States Army from March of 1943 to January of 1946, and was stationed in India and China. On November 4, 1943, Paul married Ruth Lambrecht at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. The couple lived in West Point, where Paul practiced law with the Beckenhauer and Beckenhauer law firm, did abstract work, prepared taxes, and sold insurance, retiring in 2010 and moving to Fort Calhoun in February 2014. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and a past member of American Legion and VFW. Survivors include his wife Ruth of Fort Calhoun; sons Mark (Mary) and Michael of Omaha; daughters Marilyn Denton of Fremont and Christine (Roger) Nielson of Jefferson, IA; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother-in-law Ben (Gretchen) Lambrecht; sister-in-law Laverna Lambrecht of Lincoln; nieces and nephews. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; son Paul, Jr.; grandson Matthew Nielson; brothers Robert, George, Charles, William, and Kenneth; and sisters Ethel Doner, Virginia Guretzky, and Camilla Beckenhauer.
