Patrick “Pat” McGill III, 68, of West Point, died Saturday, January 15, 2011, at West Point Living Center. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point with Reverend Frank Lordemann as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Wake services with Knights of Columbus Rosary will be 7:00 pm. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until 3:00 pm. Tuesday at Stokely Funeral Home and continue 5:00 pm. until Wake time at the St. Mary’s Church. Memorials may be made to Guardian Angels Endowment or Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. Pat was born May 18, 1942 at Wisner to Patrick H. and Elizabeth “Bly” Fleming McGill. He attended schools at Wisner and graduated from Wisner High School in 1960. He then served in the National Guard. On June 26, 1965, Pat married Rita Mae Schlickbernd at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Beemer. The couple lived in Omaha until 1967 when they moved to West Point and established Patrick McGill III Construction. Pat was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church where he sang in the choir and cantered for over 40 years. He served as St. Mary’s Parish Council president and on the St. Mary’s Endowment Board. Pat was a long time member of Cuming Choraliers. Survivors include his wife Rita, of West Point, children Patrick McGill IV of West Point, Paul McGill of Austin, TX, shawn (Jodi) McGill of Lincoln, Jeff (Sarah) McGill of West Point, Angela (Shad) Hagaman of Lincoln, and Marcia (Ron) Kimler of Millheim, PA, brothers Conleth (Jan) McGill, Dr. James (Ann) McGill) and Robert (Diane) McGill all of Omaha, Kenneth (Diane) McGill of Humphrey, and Mark (Alison) mcGill of Wahoo, sisters Rozanne Kenny, Kathryn Howard and Colleen (Jim) Fogarty all of Omaha and Mary Gabriel of Lincoln, grandchildren Trevon and Treyson McGill, Rebekah and Hannah McGill, Samantha, Hagaman, Cedar, Greyson, and Kyus Kimler. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister in law Dr. Clement and Sheila McGill.
