Norman Alfons Wegner, 62, of Scribner died May 11, 2005 at the Scribner Good Samaritan Center in Scribner. Norman was born December 4, 1942 at West Point to Alfons and Mildred (Wegner) Wegner, was baptized December 20, 1942 at home by Pastor Wehrmann the vacancy pastor at the time and confirmed June 5, 1955 at Trinity Church rural Scribner by Pastor Borgmeyer. Norman attended school at District 29 and Scribner High School. He was active in FFA and 4-H. September 18, 1965 Norman married Gloria Doescher at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Beemer. Norman was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church until it closed, then joined St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Scribner. Norman farmed on the family farm all his life. In 1976 Norman was paralyzed from the waist down in a farm accident, but continued to farm even after the accident. Norman enjoyed polka music, fishing, hunting, attending farm sales and auctions. Survivors include his wife Gloria, daughters Louise (Mark) Herzinger of Beemer, Julia (Jim) Kramer of West Point, Linda Wegner of Omaha, sons David (Kay) of West Point and Herman of Scribner. Grandchildren Sarah Herzinger, Ronald Kramer, Hunter Wegner, and Rianna Kramer. His father, Alfons Wegner of Scribner , a sister Marlene (Jay) Anderson of Scribner, brother-in-law Don (Konnie) Doescher of Lincoln, niece and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother Mildred in February, 1978, uncles Melvin, Ernst and Reinhold Wegner and an aunt Martha Leimer. Services will be 10:00 am. Saturday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Scribner with Rev. Bruce Schut officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Cemetery rural Scribner. A memorial has been established. Visitation will be 10:00am. till 8:30 pm. Friday at Stokely Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends Friday 6:00 pm. till 8:00 pm. with a prayer service at 7:30 pm. at Stokely Funeral Home. Those wishing to leave online condolences may do so at stokelyfuneralhome.com.
