Norma G. Lykins, 83, of West Point, died Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at the West Point Living Center. Her body was cremated. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Memorial Hospital Foundation. Those wishing to leave on line condolences may do so at www.stokelyfuneralhome.com.Norma was born September 13, 1922 at Rydal, Kansas to Chester and Lottie (Young) Woodka. She moved with her family as a teenager to West Point where she graduated from West Point High School in 1940. After graduationshe car pooled to Mead to work at the Nebraska Ordinance Plant, helping produce bombs for World War II, then going on to work in Texas to work on P-51 fighter planes. In 1947 she married Carl Lykins in Memifee County, Kentucky. After separation from her husband, she returned to West Point and was employed at various places before working for Wimmers Meat Products for 23 years. Norma enjoyed reading, needle work, and had a large collection of rabbits. Survivors include her sons Dennis (Kathy) of Williamsburg, Virginia, Roger (Mary Jane) of Coral Springs, Florida, sisters Mabel Smith of Emporia Kansas, Ellen (Robert) Schouten of Gresham, Oregon, brother Cecil (LaVonne) Woodka of West Point, 6 grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son Jim, daughter Carma Lee Kelley, her parents, brother Clifford Woodka, sisters Thelma, Selma, and Alice Woodka.
