Norbert Bracht, 76, of West Point died Monday, December 28, 2009 at Methodist Hospital in Omaham.emorial Mass will be 12:00 Noon Thursday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Reverend Frank Lordemann as celebrant. Public wake with Knights of Columbus Rosary will be 7:00 pm. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Memorial visitation will be 9:00 am. until 5:00 pm. Wednesday at Stokely Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Guardian Angels Endowment or Estabrook Cancer Center in Omaha. Norbert was born December 10, 1933 at West Point to Anton and Elizabeth Hunke Bracht. He was a 1951 graduate of Guardian Angels Catholic School. Norb served in the US Army from May of 1954 until April of 1956. On May 4, 1960, he married Mildred Sudbeck at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church at Bow Valley. The couple crop and dairy farmed southeast of West Point. Norbert was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and the VFW. He served on the Central Catholic School Board, the Resolution Committee for Associated Milk Producers Incorporated and a board for the United States Department of Agriculture. Norbert sang in the adult and funeral church choirs. Survivors include his wife Mildred , of West Point, daughter Denise (Kurtis) Keling of Overland Park, Kansas, sons Neal (Tami), glenn, andKurt (Angie) all of West Point and Gary (Victoria) of Chillicothe, Illinois, sister Dorothy (Fred) Gentrup of Beemer, brothers Leonard (Marian), Ed (Helen), Paul (Vera) and Victor (Judy) all of West Point, grandchildren Derek, karlie and Leah Bracht, Reed (Ashley) and Blake Bracht, Emma and Ben Keling, Nathan and Maddie Bracht, and Brandi (Mike) Flyr, aunts Sr. Alfreda Bracht of Mishawaka, Indiana, Henrietta and Ida Bracht of West Point. He is preceded in death by his parents and a grandson Mitchell Bracht.
