Nelta Clara Emelie Leitow, 86, of West Point, formerly of Bancroft, died October 2, 2006 at West Point Living Center. Services will be 10:30 am. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church rural Bancroft with Reverend Jeff Warner officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until 8:00 pm. Friday at Stokely Funeral Home with family receiving friends 6:00 pm. until 8:00 pm. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery. Those wishing to leave on line condolences may do so at www.stokelyfuneralhome.com. Nelta was born May 18, 1920 at Beemer, Nebraska to Friedrich and Augusta Kloth Lambrecht. She attended St. John’s Lutheran Church, rural Beemer. On April 21, 1946 she married Leo Leitow at St. John’s Lutheran Church. The couple operated a dairy farm north of West Point. Nelta worked as a cook at Indian Trails Country Club at Beemer from 1970 until1982. The couple then retired and moved into West Point. In her retirement, Nelta enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered as a wonderful baker and cook. Nelta was a member of Zion Lutheran Church rural Bancroft. Survivors include her husband Leo of West Point, daughter Verdean (Arlan) Meyer of Norfolk, son Lonnie (Berny) Leitow of Bancroft, grandchildren Jodie, Jamie and Jesse Meyer, Amber (Ryan) Horn, Kristin and Chelsee Leitow, great grandchild Alexa Horn, sister in law Lydia Lambrecht of Fremont and brother in law Melvin Munderloh of West Point. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Neoma Johnson, Levina Leitow, and Herta Munderloh and brothers Marvin and Artwin Lambrecht.
