Michael Edward Nielsen, 48, of West Point, died Monday August 1, 2005 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point. Services will be 10:30 am. Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in West Point with Reverend Robert Hedtke officiating. Graveside Services will be 2:00 pm. Thursday at the Blair Cemetery at Blair. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Memorial Hospital. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until 8:00 pm. Wednesday with family receiving friends 6:00 pm. until 8:00 pm. Michael was born May 22, 1957 at West Point to Don and Barbara Allen Nielsen and was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church. He attended West Point Public Schools, graduating in 1975. On November 22, 1980 he married Pamela Thompson in Blair. The couple later divorced. Mike worked as a truck driver for his father at Nielsen Oil and Propane and then Sapp Brothers. Survivors include his sons, Michael of Omaha, Matthew of LaVista, his father Don (Sarah) of West Point, brothers Steven (Mary) of Snyder and Duane (Kari) of Rapid City, SD, special friend Donna Kreikemeier, nieces Margaret and Elizabeth Nielsen, and Danielle and Tori Nielsen. He is preceded in death by his mother on July 24, 1990.
