Mary J. “Judie” Wisnieski, 68, of Diamond City, Arkansas, formerly of Dodge, died Thursday, January 14, 2010 at the University Hospital in Omaha. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church ion Norfolk with Reverend Dave Belt as celebrant. Public wake services will be at 6:30 pm. Sunday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Norfolk. Visitation will be at the church beginning at 3:00 on Sunday. Burial will be at Wenceslaus Cemetery at Dodge. A memorial has been established. Stokely Funeral Home, West Point and Dodge, is in charge of arrangements. Judie was born May 20, 1941 at Willis, Nebraska to Harold and Mary Hartnett Smith. She attended schools at Jackson and Hubbard, and graduated from Dakota City High School with the class of 1959. On May, 9, 1961, Judie married James Wisnieski at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Jackson. The couple farmed and raised their family north east of Dodge. They operated the Dodge Snack Shop for ten years. In 2006, they retired to Diamond City, Arkansas. Judie was a former St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church parishioner. Judie’s passion was for her family, making their favorite fried chicken and baking for them. She enjoyed reading, playing cards and Dominos, and occasionally going to the casino. Survivors include her husband, James of Lead Hill, Arkansas, children Kevin (Dayle) of Scribner, Don (Jolene), Anthony “Tony” (Cheryl), Gary (Keri), Brent (April) all of Norfolkand Wanda (Greg) of Pierce, grandchildren Brianna, Jeremy, Lindsey, D. J., Amanda, Jill Tim, Allison, Cassandra, Tiffany, Thomas, and Tyler, great grandson Talon, sisters Peggy Schroeder and Susan (Bill) Church both of Dakota City, and Doris (Alan) Knutson, of Centerville, SD, brothers Bob Smith of Glendale, AZ, Butch (Pat) Smith of Yorba Linda, CA, and Jack (Jeanie) Smith of Prescott, AZ. She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother Ronnie and a brother in infancy.
