Marie Lux, 83, of West Point, died Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Hooper Care Center. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, January 7 at 11:00am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery with lunch following at the Nielsen Center. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:00am to 8:00pm with Guild and Christian Mothers/Catholic Daughters Rosary at 1:30 and Vigil Service at 7:00pm all at Stokely Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Michael’s Cemetery or St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Marie Emma Lauritsen was born April 20, 1932 to Andrew and Martha (Reimers) Lauritsen in West Point. Marie attended District 27 country school and was a 1949 graduate of West Point High School. On October 2, 1952, Marie married James’Jim’ Lux at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. After being employed at Baumann’s Department Store from 1965 to 1984, she worked at Business Specialists and at Dan Bracht Law Office until retiring in 2011. Marie was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Guild, Christian Mothers, and an officer in Catholic Daughters. Marie was an animal lover who could be found tending to the farm animals with her faithful dog by her side. Survivors include her daughters Kathy (Levi) Moore of Hooper, Shari Ruskamp of West Point, sons Fr. Thomas Lux of Holdrege and Bill Lux of Fremont; grandchildren Chris (Mandy) Moore, Tracy Moore (Tim Peterson), Eric (Nicole) Ruskamp, Aaron (Erin) Ruskamp, and Andy Ruskamp; great-grandchildren Blake Uhing, Bailey Moore, Zane and Ace Moore, Kyson, Gavin, Izzy, and Essa Ruskamp, and Paxton and Lennox Ruskamp; and sister LaVerne Schulzkump.
