Margarete Lass, 72, of West Point died Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point. Funeral 10:30am Monday, February 2 at Stokely Funeral Home. Visitation 12:00 – 6:00pm Sunday, with family receiving friends from 3:00 – 5:00pm, also at Stokely Funeral Home. Burial at Manhattan Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Manhattan Cemetery. Margarete Jane Boldan was born August 20, 1942 in Omaha, Nebraska to Noble & Frances (Hightree) Boldan. She grew up in Decatur and later moved to West Point, attending schools in both locations. On October 9, 1960 Margarete married Lewis Lass in West Point. After living in different places they settled in West Point where Marti was a stay-at-home mom until their youngest child was in high school. She worked at Neligh House in West Point for several years and then went to Alco, retiring in November, 2014. Survivors include her husband Lewis of West Point; sons Tim (Jeanette) Lass of Schuyler and Lewis Jr. of West Point; daughter Angi (Bill) Compton of West Point; sister Janice (Dale) Watts of Fremont; 6 grandchildren Bobbi Sue (Jason) Richter, Megan Johnson, Jessica (Ben) Mancini, Tyler Johnson, Karen (Gerardo) Marino and Kody (Shantelle) Kasik; 5 great-grandchildren Kian, Kaleb, Laylani, Aiden and Kimber; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceeded in death by her parents, sisters Jerry Henderson and Sandi Claussen; brother Larry Boldan; and her mother and father-in-law.
