Margaret Heimann, 84, of West Point, died Sunday, July 11, 2010, at Parkview Nursing Home in Dodge. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point with Reverend Frank Lordemann as celebrant. Guild Rosary will be 1:30 pm. Tuesday and Public Wake services will be 7:00 pm. Tuesday both at Stokely Funeral Chapel. Burial at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Visitation will be noon until 8:00 pm. Tuesday at Stokely Funeral Home. Margaret was born November 28, 1925 on the family farm north of West Point to John and Catherine Ortmeier Stalp. She attended Guardian Angels Catholic School in West Point and graduated in 1943 and then worked at Farmers and Merchants Bank. On June 1, 1949, Margaret married Francis Heimann at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point. The couple farmed on the Cuming and Dodge County Line and were members of St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Snyder. They retired into West Point in 1997. Margaret was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point, Guild, Christian Mothers and Catholic Daughters. Margaret spent many years serving as a 4-H leader. She enjoyed quilting and gardening but was passionate about her grandchildren and enjoyed baking for them and others. Survivors include a son, Leigh of West Point, daughters, Linda (Rob) Ross of Westminster, Colorado and Kathy (Mark) Buse of West Point, son-in-law Dave Pieper of Dodge, grandchildren Cindy (Lee) Reichmuth, Brian (Jamie) Pieper, Karen, Emily and Chris Pieper, John (Samantha) Ross, Michael, David and Tim Ross, Laura and Nicole Buse, great-grandchildren Tyler and Hallie Reichmuth and Ethan Ross, sister, Elizabeth (George) Brockhaus of Humphrey, and a brother, Paul (Mary Clare) Stalp of West Point. She is preceded in death by her husband, Francis, in September 2009, daughter, Betty Pieper in September of 2008, brother, John Stalp and sister, Genevieve Meiergerd.
