M. Elaine Ross, 78, of Lincoln, died Friday, December 1, 2017 at Journey House Hospice in Lincoln. Memorial service will be 1:30pm on Saturday, December 9 at Grace Lutheran Church in West Point with Reverend Carl Kramer as officiant. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery with lunch following at the church hall. Visitation will be Saturday from 12:00pm to 1:30pm at Grace Lutheran Church. Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church. Stokely Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Margaret Elaine Ross was born on October 24, 1939 to Irvin and Margaret (Cox) Ray in Tekamah. She was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in West Point. Elaine graduated from West Point Public High School in 1957 and worked part-time and full-time at the Cuming County Assessor’s and Treasurer’s offices in West Point. On June 28, 1959, Elaine married high school sweetheart Gary L. Ross at Grace Lutheran Church. They were married 58 years. A son, Randal, and daughter, Deborah, were born to this union. The couple moved to Lincoln in 1986. Elaine was a member of United Lutheran Church in Lincoln. She loved baking and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Gary, of Lincoln; son, Randal, of Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren, Scott (Whitney), Mathew, Thomas, and Sara Ross; great-grandson, Jack Thomas; sister-in-law, Judy (Dean) Strehle; and brothers-in-law, David (Karen) Ross and Charles (Janet) Ross. She is preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law, Leonard and Dorothy Ross; daughter, Deborah Ross; and sisters, Inez (Bruce) Siebert, Dorothy (Robert) Goddard, and Phyllis (Marion) Puffer.
