It was with great sadness that I learned of Lyle's passing. I first met Lyle when our young Wahoo team began playing in the Fremont Men's Fastpitch League. Lyle, Huk Herring, Ron Fittje and others welcomed a bunch of young upstarts into the league back in 1974. We learned quickly that Lyle would always field an excellent team. We not only learned the game of fastpitch but how to respect our opponents and competitors from the likes of Lyle. Lyle and his West Point area teams were great role models for our young players. The entire Wooldrink family has my deepest and sincerest sympathies.
