Luella Theodora Jahnke Kollmorgen, 90, of Lincoln, died Sunday, November 14, 2004 at Sweet Life of Rosehill in Shawnee, KS. Memorial services will be 10:30 am. Saturday at Stokely Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Evangelical United Lutheran Church in Lincoln, the American Heart or Cancer Associations. Luella was born February 21, 1914 in Bancroft to Christian “Chris” and Caroline “Lena” Pagels Jahnke. She attended Zion Lutheran School rural Bancroft. On March 17, 1934 in Fremont she married Herbert Kollmorgen. The couple lived in Oklahoma before moving to Wayne, NE in 1944, then to Lincoln in 1960. It was there she attended Lincoln School of Cosmetology. In April of 2004 the couple moved to Shawnee to be closer to their daughters. Luella enjoyed quilting, sewing and traveling but mostly enjoyed her family. She was member of Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Church Quilters, Soil Conservation Women Retirees, and Women’s Hall of Fame in Seneca, NY. Luella was a Girl Scout and 4-H leader. She was a past member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wayne, Wayne Boosters, Zion Lutheran Church Band and Choir. Survivors include her husband Herbert, son Donald (Louise) of Rochester, NY, daughters Bee (Gordon) Kitching, Olathe, KS and Judy (Roger) Denesia, Overland Park, KS, granddaughters Christine (Mark) Glover of Olathe, KS, and Catherine (Patrick) Meraz of Kansas City, MO, great grandson Michael Glover of Olathe, brother John Jahnke, Searcy, AR, sisters Laura Zimmermann, Alverna (Harold) Engelbart and Lenora Jahnke all of West Point. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Donald and sisters Caroline, Dora and Gertrude.
