Louise Elizabeth Gralheer, 88, of West Point, died Friday, December 19, 2008, at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point with Reverend Frank Lordemann as celebrant. Burial at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Guild, Christian Mother’s and Catholic Daughter’s Rosary and American Legion Auxiliary Rites will be 1:30 pm. Sunday and Wake Services will be 7:00 pm. Sunday all at Stokely Funeral Home. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until 8:00 pm. Sunday at Stokely Funeral Home. Those wishing to leave on line condolences may do so at www.stokelyfuneralhome.com. Louise was born July 10, 1920 in West Point to Fred and Catherine Meiergerd Lueckenhoff. She attended Guardian Angels Catholic School, graduating in 1937. On November 6, 1944, she married Maurice Gralheer at Lowry Air Force Base Chapel in Denver, Colorado. Louise worked in a variety of ways for the Civil Service: as a currier for the Army Air Corps, and later for the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service in West Point, retiring in 1973. Louise was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Guild, Christian Mothers, Catholic Daughters and the American Legion Auxiliary. She volunteered with the Red Cross, as a bookkeeper for St. Mary’s and served as an officer for the Guild and Catholic Daughters. Louise enjoyed cooking, baking, needlework and especially attending events of her nine grandchildren. Survivors include daughters Linda (Patrick) Rogers of Norfolk and Donna (Tom) McDevitt of West Point, sisters Ruth Reiman and Agnes Schlecht and brother Jim (Joan) Lueckenhoff all of West Point, grandchildren: Julie Rogers, Michael Rogers, Teresa Arens, Elizabeth Rogers, John McDevitt, Lisa McDevitt, Tim McDevitt, Todd McDevitt, and Ted McDevitt, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Maurice, in March of 1988, her parents and siblings: Joan Knobbe, Fred Lueckenhoff, Jr., Rose Tomka, and Karen Duker.
