Lorraine A. Hultquist, 73 of Grand Island died Sunday, August 26th at Wedgewood Care Center. Graveside services will be 10:30 am. Friday, November 9, 2012 at Mount Hope Cemetery in West Point. Lorraine A. Hultquist was born October 4, 1938 at West Point the daughter of Rolland and Valna (Woerman) VonSeggern. She was raised on a family farm east of West Point in Cuming County. She attended rural school and graduated from Lyons High School, class of 1956. She was united in marriage to Gordon Hultquist on October 12, 1958. They farmed for 13 years near Oakland, NE before moving to Grand Island in 1972. Lorraine worked at various places. She retired from the Grand Island Public Schools following 17 years of service. She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran faith. She loved music having been a wonderful soloist singing in choirs and for many special occasions. Lorraine loved flower gardening and had a great love for animals. She enjoyed baking for her family and friends. Lorraine had a large open heart that made everyone feel welcome. Her memory and smile will be treasured by many. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Gordon; sons and daughter-in-law, Brad and Jane Hultquist of Chandler, Arizona and Mitch Hultquist of Phoenix, Arizona and brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Carol VonSeggern of West Point. Those also left to cherish her memory are grandchildren, Luke Hultquist, Anna Hultquist, Sarah Wilson and Tarah Wells. She is preceded in death by her parents and infant triplets, Richard, Rita and Randy. A memorial fund will be established in memory of Lorraine.
