Lorena Ross, 95, of West Point died Thursday, May 21, 2009 at St Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point. Funeral services for Lorena will be held Thursday, May 28 at 10:30 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church in West Point with Rev. Richard Bringewatt officiating. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 am to 8 pm on Wednesday at Stokely Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church and School. Online condolences may be made to www.stokelyfuneralhome.com. Lorena was born June 18, 1913 on a farm near Bancroft, Nebraska to Daniel and Louise (Koehler) Ross and was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church near Bancroft. She worked at Farmers Union Grocery Store in West Point for 15 years and later at Elkhorn Valley Clinic in West Point for 23 years. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and an active member in LWML and Ladies Aid. She was active at the Sunshine Senior Center in West Point. In September of 2008, Lorena moved to Colonial Courts in Beemer. Survivors include cousins and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Elsie Smith, Hulda Ehlers, Bertha Mohl, Verona Bargholz. Dorothy Radecker and Louise Jirovsky; brothers Leonard, Herbert, Ray and Daniel Ross.
