Lester Emil Casper Luebbert, 79, of West Point, died February 4, 2007 at the Veteran’s Hospital in Omaham.emorial Services will be 10:30 Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church in West Point with Reverend John Plowman officiating. Burial will occur at a later date. Memorials may be made to Merkel Cell Carcinoma Research. Those wishing to sign the register may do so 9:00 pm. until 8:00 pm. at Stokely Funeral Home. Those wishing to leave on line condolences may do so at www.stokelyfuneralhome.com. Lester was born September 15, 1927 west of West Point in Cuming County to Joseph and Ruth Kahler Luebbert. As a small child the family moved to the farm east of West Point. He attended District 13 School thru the 8th grade. During the early 1950’s he served in the U. S. Army, stationed in Korea. On June 23, 1957 he married Jean Druhe. The couple farmed and milked on the home place east of town until 1996 when they moved into West Point. Lester was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Good Life Club and the American Legion. He enjoyed playing cards and fishing, but his passion was his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Jean, of West Point, daughters Kathy Murphy of Omaha, Janet (Ty) Booze of Cedar Bluffs, Susan Luebbert of Fremont, and Sharon (Ken) Criley of Bethany, MO, sons, Wayne of Rochester, MN, Clark of Fremont, Walter (Becky) of West Point and Mark (Sandy) of West Point, 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister, Dorothy.
