Leonard T. Ulrich, 82, of West Point, died Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at West Point Living Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Reverend Gerald Gonderinger as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Public Wake with Knights of Columbus Rosary will be 7:00 pm. Thursday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Memorials may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until 4:00 pm. at Stokely Funeral Home and continue at the church. Leonard was born January 28, 1925 at Monterey to August and Mary Heiman Ulrich and attended St. Boniface Catholic School. On June 18, 1952, he married Mary Ellen Aschoff at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point. The couple farmed west of West Point until retiring to West Point in 1994. Leonard enjoyed farming his entire life. He loved playing cards and attending dances with his wife. Leonard was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He was a former member of St. Boniface Catholic Church at Monterey. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen, of West Point, daughters Lu Ann (David) Ebel of Wisner, and Lori Ulrich of West Point, sister Anna Marie Meiergerd, brother Vincent (Catherine) of West Point, grandchildren Matthew (April) Ebel, Kari (Kyle) Moormeier, Craig (Stacy) Ebel and Nicole Ebel, one great grandson Kaleb Moormeier, sister in laws Hermines Ulrich of Howells, Delores Ulrich of Omaha, Betty (Art) Stieren of West Point and Janice Aschoff of Lincoln. Preceding him in death are his parents, brothers Frank and Martin, infant daughter, in-laws Leo Meiergerd, Larry Aschoff, Joel and Elaine Aschoff.
