Leonard Anthony Steffensmeier, 55, of Lynnwood, Washington, formerly of Snyder, died Saturday August 19, 2006 at his Lynnwood, Washington home. Memorial Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am. Saturday at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Snyder with Reverend Don Cleary as celebrant. Public Wake Services will be 7:00 pm. Friday at Stokely Funeral Home in West Point. Burial will be in St. Leo’s Cemetery at Snyder. Those wishing to sign the register may do so9:00 am. until 8:00 pm. Friday at Stokely Funeral Home in West Point or on line at www.stokelyfuneralhome.com.Memorials may be made to St. Leo’s Cemetery or St. Joseph’s Retirement Community. Leonard was born January 6, 1951 in West Point to Anton and MarieKnuever Steffensmeier. He grew up on the farm at Snyder and was a 1969 graduate of Snyder High School. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving on the West Coast until January of 1972. He settled in the Seattle, Washington area where he worked for Boeing and Al-Fab as a welder. Leonard will be remembered for his friendly nature and helping hands. Survivors include his parents Anton and Marie Steffensmeier of WestPoint, sisters; Sister Betty Steffensmeier, School Sisters of St. Francis, of Omaha, Marlene (Ronald) Pietz of Sioux City, Iowa, and Mary (Kevin) Hart of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, brother Richard (Shadda) Steffensmeier of Scribner, 13 nieces and nephews and 2 great nephews. He is preceded in death by a brother Michael in January of 2002
