Leona Catherine Meier, 95, of West Point died May 16, 2005 at the West Point Living Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 Thursday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Guild Rosary will be 1:30 Wednesday and Public Wake Services will be 8:00 pm. Wednesday both at Stokely Funeral Home. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Leona was born April 15, 1910 to Minolf and Mary Wortman Tingelhoff. She attended Guardian Angels School. Leona married Rudolph Joseph Meier and the couple farmed south of West Point. After Rudy’s death Leona moved into West Point where she lived 17 years in an apartment, then to St. Joseph’s retirement community and then to the Living Center in 2003. Leona enjoyed working in her big garden on the farm. After moving to town she enjoyed quilting and handiwork. Survivors include sons Mark (Mary Lou) and David (Cathy) all of West Point, sister Camilla Linderholm of Centralia, WA, grandchildren Mathew(Joani), Jonathan (Sara), Joseph and Sarah Meier, Karen (Brandon) Wright, Ryan (Tanya) Meier and Jacob Meier, great grandchildren Paige, Bridget, cash and Caleb Meier and Lane and Cooper Wright. She is preceded in death by her husband, infant son, grandson Corey in 1989, brothers, Henry, Raymond, and Leonard Tingelhoff, and sisters Ann Slattery, Margaret Young, Mary Luebbert, and Francis Uhing.
