Leo F. Rueschhoff, Jr., 75, of Dodge died Wednesday, December 14, 2011 in Fremont, NE. Funeral Mass will be 10 am Monday, December 19, 2011 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge with Reverend Patrick McLaughlin as celebrant. Visitation will be 3 pm to 7 pm Sunday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with a Public Wake Service at 7 pm. Burial will be at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church Cemetery with Military honors graveside. Memorials may be made to St. Wenceslaus Church Maintenance Fund. Leo Frank Rueschhoff, Jr. was born May 6, 1936 on the family farm near Howells, NE to Leo and Mary (Marik) Rueschhoff. He graduated from Howells High School in 1954, then served in the Army from 1955 to 1957 in the 15th Armored Infantry Battalion, Company A. On April 16, 1959, he married Janice Kabes. Leo was an auto mechanic for Blankenau Motor Company for over 40 years, retiring in 2004. Leo was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and Dodge American Legion. He was a volunteer fireman for 40 years and volunteered at the church and school taking care of maintenance work. He was an avid Tarok player and loved polka music. He enjoyed golfing, restoring tractors and scooters, gardening and being a handyman. He is survived by his wife, Janice of Dodge, NE; sons Gregg (Janet) Rueschhoff of Omaha, NE, Jeff (Tracy) of McKinney, TX, Jerry (Jodi) of Morrison, CO, and Steve(Darcie) of Chicago, IL; daughter Julie Schmidt of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren Jason and Lisa Rueschhoff, Morgan and Ian Rueschhoff, Jack and Charlie Rueschhoff, Allison Rueschhoff and Jesse and Jonah Schmidt; brother, roland (Pat) Rueschhoff of Columbus, NE; sisters, Phyllis (Dan) Rupprecht of Des Moines, IA and Lois (Roger) Roubal of Omaha, NE. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother Marlon and sister Janet Bazata.
