Leo Heinrich Christian Leitow, 87, of West Point, died April 9, 2007 at St. Francis Memorial Hospital. Services will be 1:00 pm. Friday, April 13, 2007 at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Bancroft, with Reverend Jeff Warner officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00 am. until 8:00 pm. Thursday with family present 6:00 pm. until 8:00 pm. at Stokely Funeral Home in West Point. On April 21, 1946 he married Nelta Lambrecht at St. John’s Lutheran Church, rural Beemer. The couple operated a dairy farm north of West Point. In 1982 they moved into West Point. Leo was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where he served as Treasurer, Trustee, and Usher. Leo and Nelta never spent a wedding anniversary apart in 60 years of marriage; they will spend their 61st anniversary together in heaven. Survivors include daughter Verdean (Arlan) Meyer of Norfolk, son Lonnie (Berny) Leitow of Bancroft, grandchildren Jodie, Jamie and Jesse Meyer, Amber (Ryan) Horn, Kristin and Chelsee Leitow, great grandchild Alexa Horn. He is preceded in death by his wife, Nelta, October 2, 2006, sisters Adella Redding and Hildegard Stuckenschmidt and brothers Louis and Lorenz Leitow.
