Lawrence D. Jensen, 86, of Omaha, died Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Hillcrest Cottages in Papillion.  Memorial Mass will be 11:00am on Friday, January 19 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 4804 Grover St., with Rev. Frank Jindra as celebrant.  Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at church.  The funeral will be live streamed on the Stokely Funeral Home Facebook page at facebook.com/stokelyfuneralhome.  Lunch will be at the DAV Hall, 4515 F St.  Arrangements by Stokely Funeral Home.

Lawrence D. Jensen, born on January 11, 1937, to Arthur and Patricia (Madden) Jensen in Omaha. Larry’s work ethic began at a young age by delivering the Omaha World Herald as a kid. His early education took place at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Grade School, and he proudly graduated from Omaha South High School in 1954. Larry married Gloria Beyette in November of 1957.  Lawrence’s commitment to learning and growth extended into his professional life, where he dedicated an impressive 43 years to the accounting department at Union Pacific.

In 1971, Larry married Linda Crowell.

Known for his easygoing nature, Lawrence approached life with a calm demeanor that endeared him to friends and colleagues alike. Beyond his work, Lawrence found joy in a variety of hobbies. An avid golfer, he enjoyed the challenge of the greens, and his affinity for horses, football, investing, and keno added vibrant layers to his multifaceted personality.

Lawrence’s legacy lives on through his children: Mark, Matt, Jane, Brian, and Margo. Additionally, he leaves behind stepchildren Laurie, Eddie, and Mary.  He is also survived by his siblings, Joyce Whalley, Maureen Short, Connie Dugan, and David (Randie) Jensen.

In addition to his parents, Lawrence is preceded in death by his wife, Linda and son Paul, and brother, Richard.
