Larry Lund, 64, of West Point, died Monday, September 27, 2010 at his home. Funeral Services with Military Honors will be 10:30 am. Thursday at Stokely Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Richard Bringewatt officiating. Visitation will be 2:00 pm. until 8:00 pm. Wednesday with family receiving friends 5:00 pm. to 7:00 pm. Memorials may be made to the West Point Rescue or West Point Fire Department. Larry was born April 7, 1946 in Stanton County. He was raised by his step father and mother William and Inger Hansen Mussack. Larry was a 1964 graduate of Stanton High School. Following graduation, Larry enlisted in the US Navy, serving for 22 years working in air traffic control, retiring in May of 1991 as a Chief. He then moved to West Point where Larry drove truck for 13 years, hauling for Stalp Gravel, retiring in 2006. On January 6, 1968, larry married Mary “Mae” Krupka at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge. Larry will be remembered for his good, honest nature. He enjoyed collecting, recording and listening to music. Survivors include his wife Mary “Mae” of West Point, daughters Jean Marie (Paul) Shonka of Dodge and Jody (Mark) Greckel of West Point, sisters Jane (Bob) Timm and Lana (Dallas) Hinnerichs both of Stanton, grandchildren Brandon Greckel, Jessica and Justin Shonka. He is preceded in death by his parents andbrother Ronald Lund.
